Aims & Objectives

The Life-Long Learning Special Interest Group (LLL-SIG) discussed a further draft proposal for an ‘accreditation process for CPD activities’ which could promote wider recognition of the CPD gained for both individual dental professionals and CPD providers. An external organisation such as ADEE could provide such a service. Two documents, ‘A European System of Accreditation of CPD for Dentists’ and ‘An Accreditation Application Form’ were discussed and finalised.

In addition, a ‘topic related presentation’ was provided on the ‘Quality Assurance Framework for Dental Workforce Development and the use of an accreditation process’. This was linked to the DentCPD project, both being suggested areas for further development back in 2012 and also linked to the UK ‘Standards for Dental Educators’.
